Advised a Finnish medical appliances company in patent invalidation proceedings concerning a medical device relating to ophthalmic laser surgery company.
We have advised the Finnish medical appliance company in a matter where an US based renowned research entity has claimed that the Finnish company infringes its patents in multiple jurisdiction.
The patent in suit was successfully invalidated due to prior art before the Market Court. The Market Court ruled that the patent was not novel, i.e. not new in relation to what was known before the filing date of the patent application, and does not even differ clearly therefrom.
The matter involved highly novel medical appliances.
